Normally, LLB degree is given only for a full time course and not by Distance Learning. If you wish to practice law, you need to do either a 5 years integrated LL.B. course (after 12th) or 3 Years LL.B. (after graduation). The following shorter-duration correspondence courses in Law are offered: University of Jammu; University of Kashmir offers LLB (Academic). The following universities offer BGL (General Law)/BAL (Academic Law) courses through correspondence: Annamalai University; Kakatiya University; Madurai-Kamaraj University; Centre for Distance Education, Acharya Nagarjuna University; National Law School of India University. For fee structure please do check with the university directly. As per the ruling of the Bar Council of India, LLB through correspondence or through any of the courses mentioned above will not entitle you to undertake professional work in a court of law. Nonetheless, you may join a solicitor’s firm or even give legal advice. Besides, your degree will be useful in jobs that require knowledge of law such as in company secretaryship, personnel management, industrial relations, taxation, consultancy services, etc.

Hi friend, I am a Advocate and as regards to your question I would like to say you that the Bar Council of India does not recognizes/approves any LL.B. cources from Distance Education/ Correspondance / Part Time.
And as regards to the second part of your question thare are various Certificate/Diploma/PG.Diploma cources available and also there is a cource called B.G.L. (Bachelor of General Law) which is moste probably availabe with the institutes in South India, however this cource is also not recognized by the Bar Council of India.
Hope I have replied you? for any further query cou can post your query at SHIKSHA or contact me at 9748517413 ; advocateansari@yahoo.co.in
