I am in class 11 (maths). What can I pursue in engineering? Which is the best branch of engineering?

It's better to adopt civil engineering. It's quite good and has plenty of government job opportunities. Other branches have constant growth, but civil engineering has exponentially growth in terms of package/salary. My suggestion is to go for civil engineering.

8 years agoIf you study in a good college, all branches have scope. There are successful businesses and well-paying jobs in all disciplines, including civil engineering, and chemical engineering. And the vast majority of computer science graduates in the country do not have decent jobs (because there are so many of them!) If you study in a bad college, a good branch is not going to help you. Also, so called good branches with lots of scope tend to be over-crowded, because everyone is entering that field. And finally, nobody really knows which branch will have the most scope 10 years from now. (When I did my Engineering, my friends took Co...more -
It's your interest point that if you like -
1. Maths and programming you can opt CS Engineering
2. Interest in design manufacturing physics mechanics industrial aspects go for mechanical engineering,
3. Interest in the design, construction, and maintenance of the physical and naturally built environment, including public works such as roads, bridges, canals, dams, airports, sewerage systems, pipelines, structural components of buildings, and railways go for civil engineering
4. Interest in design, development, and maintenance of electrical systems and their components, ensuring quality, safety, reliability, and sustainability go for elect...more -
It's really good to think about the branch when you are in 11th standard but engineering is a path to study of technologies, there are different types of technologies available therefore there are different branches, so your interest matters when you make choices.

Go for the branch in which you are interested do a research on the branch requirement and choose accordingly.
Currently, CSE and IT are best but core branches like mechanical and civil are evergreen branches.
