All the branches of engineering are good and all have plenty of scope. To choose a branch, first you should figure out your area of interest and long-term life goals. Plus, you still have an year to develop any kind of interest if there isn't any yet.

you should opt for engineering B.Tech. There are so many prominent colleges , institutes spread all over across the country. after completing 12th you must apply for JEE(main) , BITS , SRMEE etc. It will pump you to either drop a year or not or how to go under prepration.

in abroad they used to do psychometric test to find out which stream you will fit in. You discuss with your parents and based on your personal interest and attitude you can decide which stream your character will fit in. Your mother knows you are good at what. like if you dont have service attitude in born you should not try to become a doctor. Like this you can decide. Others opinion need not be correct on this issue.

Firstly focus on mains nd bitsat. later on think about the branches. as u knw the branches depend on how much u score in mains.
now as the branch is considered then there are two aspects. wheteher u want an IT firm or CORE BRANCHES. if u want handsome package den u should go for cse. cse from better colleges like nit or iit or bits other than that there are various good private colleges like vit (ranked top among pvt colleges according to NIRF), manipal.
mostly cse students go into private sector nd dere are no job security nd u have to work a lot there BUT In return u ll get good package.
but if u go for core branches like civil or me
