Try to focus on your performance in class 12th boards. Because, the marks you will receive in your class 12th results will provide the career options you can choose from. As for Engineering, the best branch would be the one that has higher placements. CS or IT are most paying branches in engineering. Otherwise, the best branch would be the one you are interested in.

I would say that no one branch is good or bad today. It's all based on your area of interest and passion for learning. There is a scope of IT today and am not sure of its scope in the upcoming days. So go with your passion and ambitions, I am sure that you will never be disappointed.
    Good luck!

    Hi,
All the branches are best in their own place. But, as a software engineer, I just want to tell you that if you really like to solve complex problems easily and it is your own passion, so go for the software engineering.
For software engineering, you must have a passion for problem solving.
    All the best!

If you get into IITs. IIT Bombay is the place for CSE. Other top branches are:
    Aerospace/aeronautical engineering.
    Chemical engineering.
    Civil engineering.
    Electrical/electronics engineering.

It totally depends on you. You must have certain field of interest, which you want to fulfill it or achieve it. According to that field interest, just choose a correct branch for yourself.
But, if you don't have any aim now, then I suggest you to just prepare for JEE Main and Advanced, and even if you don't want to pursue engineering, then take suggestion from your parents. What they want to you to become in future.
