Hi,
Although, the registration requirement may differ from University to University but I would suggest that you should always select a guide which is from your own research area. However, since both the fields are related to computer you may not face problem while guide registration.
I would also suggest you to directly get in touch with the University from where you are planning to do your PhD to get the more specified information.
Hope this resolve your query. Feel free to put up more queries. In case your query is resolved please close this question by choosing it as a best answer or pressing the thumbs up icon.
Thanks,
Pooja

Instead of going for degrees go for a job and get industry experience. You should do MBA only after 2+ years of experience.

Working in a call center should not be your aim after you complete your engineering. It is ok for you to work part time now if time permits you to. After you complete your BTech, look for some good jobs, which you can gain becauseof your qualification. And as far as studying abroad goes. there are plenty of options for you. MA, MSc, MA etc . work out your priorities first and then decide on your career.
Dont just get carried away with the life style or financial status of Call center employees whom you know. Their life cycle is not as great as it seems from outside.
