1.) Is PTU better than WBUT? 2.) Do IT MNCs accept students who studied by lateral admission in 2nd year MCA?

I want to pursue MCA from PTU as I have not given WB-JECA and dont want to waste a year. DAITM (http://daitm.org.in/mca.html) in Kolkata is affiliated to PTU and offering regular classes for MCA. According to their rules I can take lateral admission in 2nd year. Is lateral admission a good choice?
