2 years gap between intermediate and joining engineering

I might have a gap of 2 years between leaving intermediate and joining engineering. Will this affect me in the future or is it okay.i will be 20 yrs old next year when i join

Join engineering it will be little tuf but not at all impossible you can also go for bsc after passing 12th with science select a good branch is very important for you after engineering you will be able for higher paying jobs
