Every year, the marks obtained differs and since the marking system is CAT is relative and not absolute, one cannot predict what markets will 96% fetch as it depends on how your peers perform. But, if you want an average prediction of score then it can be roughly around 130 marks.

Percentile is calculated as: (number of people behind you/total no of people)*100
It is calculated as your performance in comparison to others. For example, if there are 100 people in the class and you scored 97 marks then there would 96 people that are behind you and so your percentile will be 96. Therefore, there are not hard and fast rules that ideally a student score specific marks to get certain percentile. Hope this helps.

It differs upon all the student's performance and the difficulty. Approximately, if you get more than 130 you will get 95 percentile, and if you get more than 150 there might be a chance for you to get 98 percentile. To get admission in top IIMS you need to score at least 98 or 99 percentile.
