a tank can be filled by 1 tap in 20 min & by another in 25 min.both the taps are kept open for 5min & then the second is turned off.in how

Assume that the tank is of 100 litres capacity. Then tap A is filling it with a rate of 5 litres/min and Tap B is filling it with rate of 4 litre per minutes as they fill it in 20 and 25 minutes respectively. If both taps A and B are run simultaneosuly for 5 minutes then (5 x 5) + (4 x 5) = 45 litres can be filled in the tank. If tap-B is then stopped then you need to fill remaining 55 litres in the tank which can be done by tap-A in 55/5 = 11 minutes. Now that you have the answer with the calculations I would suggest that you do NOT post such riddles on this education forum please. -
