For MD-Psychiatry, an MBBS is a must. Because BAMS and Post Graduation in Psychiatry are two different branches of medicine.

MBBS is a different branch of medicine and BAMS is different. One is Allopathy and the other is Ayurvedic or say science of herbal medicines. MCI says that only after an MBBS degree can you pursue a corresponding PG course.

As per MCI regulations, the PG seats are taken in and PG in clinical psychiatry needs MBBS as requisite.
