    FTII (Film and Television Institute of India) is an autonomous institute under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting of the GoI and aided by the Central GoI. It is situated on the premises of the erstwhile Prabhat Film Company in Pune. The film and Television Institute of India is a member of the CILECT (International Liaison Centre of Schools of Cinema and Television), an organisation of the world's leading schools of film and television.     Hello Shruti, it's very nice to SEE that you want to tread newer paths rather than routine one. There are literally hundeds of courses that you can do in FTII, India's premier institute in this field in Pune. The best would be you should identify your interest areas and then take up course accordingly. You will find all information in the brochure that you can download from their website. No, FTII only offers admission to PG diploma, MFA degrees and Certificate courses through FTII JET entrance exam. Candidates wanting to get admission to Film and Television related courses at Film and Television Institute of India can check the list of course specializations offered on Shiksha page.

According to previous year's prospectus released by FTII, the FTII JET entrance exam is conducted in 26 cities. The names of exam cities are shared by the institute in its admission prospectus. But, students must note that this number may or may not change for every admissio cycle.

The Film and Television Insititute of India only offers full-time courses. So, candidates pursuing any other course or working on a job cannot study part-time at FTII. Such students will have to withdraw admission or resign and submit their withdrawl/resignation certificates and any other required documents during document verification phase of the admission process.

The institute offers the following scholarships based on merit and performance credits during the students' time there. 

  1. Entrance Exam Merit - Given to toppers in each of the film wing courses; INR 12,500 per year. 
  2. 1st Semester Merit - Given to the first 3 toppers; Common Module (Editing, Sound Recording & Sound Design, Art Direction & Production Design and Screenplay Writing); 1st topper get INR 24,000, 2nd gets INR 21,500 and the 3rd gets INR 19,000 every year
  3. Given to acting topper; INR 24,000 / year
  4. Given to screenplay writing topper; INR 24,000 / year

No, FTII does not offer undergraduate degree courses. They only offer postgraduate Diploma and certificate courses under their film wing and television wing. However, they do have one Undergraduate Certificate course in Animation & Visual Effects Design.
