After diploma can i go for iit by lateral entry in 2nd year?

Yes, you can't take admission in IIt by lateral entry however you can go for IP university.

There is no such option of lateral entry in IITs but yes there are many other universities like LPU, Amity, Manavrachna etc that offer lateral entry in B.Tech courses. The admission is direct on the basis of your marks in diploma or you can give their entrance test.
