After doing Diploma in mechanical engineering can I get admission directly in the 2nd year of B.Tech in VIT?

Yes, there is a provision of lateral entry in which most students either Diploma students or other students from other colleges can join. It is a very normal process for taking admission in 2nd year.

Yes sure there is an option of lateral entry in VIT, but you'll have to pay a big amount and it is really very expensive to study there.

Yes, you can get admission through lateral entry but it is quite difficult because your current college may make it difficult for you to get the NOC and without NOC you cannot get admission in another college.
