After getting conditional letter from coventry ,is it required to pay deposit?Or just show the experience letter of 2 years to Get the CAS.

The 2 conditions are a)exp certificate of 2 yrs b) Pay deposit of the fees.My query is should i pay the deposit as my friend also gt condtional letter of IELTS and pay a deposit for sam univ,his consultancy told now only IELTS Is required after getting CAS no only , deposit of the fee has to be paid
