No, work experience is not necessary for getting into top IIMs.

No, work experience is not compulsory but it will increase your chances of getting IIM as IIM develops their own scale of marking on the basis of your curriculum percentage of 10th, 12th and graduation and that scale also include the work experience in it. Not actually. If you have experience it will be an added advantage for you. So that's the reason why majority after having experience joining IIMs.
