AIEED. exam is compulsory to take admission in arch? or i can simply clear 12th and take admission??

AIEED is not compulsory for doing architecture but you have to clear entrance exam's of the university where you want to take admission....
But you are unable to take admission in those Institutes where the AIEED is the main criteria of admission...
