2 years agoGood day, Samruddhi You did in fact provide a pretty intriguing question. Sincerity dictates that both of these areas have similar relevance today. However, avionics equipment repair often takes place in a lab rather than on an aircraft, though this isn't always the case. However, the aircraft must be serviced by a craft mechanic. From another angle, every aircraft will need an aviation mechanic for maintenance, but the number of avionics systems that need to be maintained will differ depending on the size of the aircraft. However, total job chances are nearly comparable for both of these trades. I wish you well. -

4 years agoHello Samruddhi, you have indeed ask a very interesting query. Frankly speaking both these fields have got equal application in the field. But avionics equipment maintenance involves majorly work in the lab and not out on the aircraft but of course is not always true. On the other hand craft mechanic has to work on the aircraft. From other perspective every aircraft will require and aircraft mechanic for maintenance while the requirement of avionics equipment maintenance personnel will vary depending on the quantum of equipment on board the aircraft.
