Alagappa univ offers lateral entry into 2nd year of BCA /BSC(IT) if someone has done a diploma course. Is it considered valid by companies?

i have done H.S.C in year 1998. Then i did some Programming course in IT and now i want to complete my B.C.A. Alagappa university is allowing lateral entry into second year of BCA. Will this degree be considered valid by organisations or does it have any value if i directly go into second year.
