am doin bsc maths 6th sem on calicut universty.i'd like to improve ma 4th sem score. so will it make my 1 year lose if i apply for improvmnt

If your university allows Improvement Exams then if exam time table of 4th sem's paper does not of clash with any 6th sem's exam paper then you will not loose 1 year. Both exams you can write simultaneously.
