Am I doing the right thing by deciding to go to America for UG?

I have got 7.5 CGPA in 9th, 8 in 10th, 66% in 11th and I am presently in 12th. I participated in a lot of extracurricular activities in 11th. I can confidently say that I like mathematics and I am good at it. I want to go for Stanford Engineering. I am pretty sure that I will get good SAT score.
