Am I eligible for degree lecture in state and central universities?

I studied B.Sc. (maths, physics, computer). Now I'm studying M.A. History in Central university. If I will qualify the UGC NET in history subject, Am I eligible for the degree lecture in state & central universities? Is there any problem with UGC rules and regulations? Please explain.
