    Hello,
    UGC NET exam is conducted for 84 different subjects including sociology. To be eligible for NET exam, you should complete Masters degree with minimum 55% aggregate marks (5% relaxation available for other than general category).     The UGC NET is conducted for the aspirants completed the Masters in any subject and want to make career in lectureship and Research programme, but there are some eligibility criteria a given below -

    The criteria for eligibilities for NET are mentioned at the link provided below:
    https://www.shiksha.com/teaching-education/exams/ugc-net. You need 55 % marks in the post-graduation to appear in the National Eligibility test, whereas the candidates from the reserved category needs 50 % marks.

    Candidates who have secured at least 55% marks in their Master’s degree exams (in streams such as Humanities, Social Science, Electronic Science, Computer Science & Applications, etc.). From a UGC recognized college/ university fulfill UGC NET 2018 eligibility criteria. It may be noted minimum percentage required to meet UGC NET eligibility criteria for candidates belonging to SC/ ST/ OBC/ PwD categories is 50% marks.
