Am I eligible to pursue B.Tech in mechanical engineering after completing Diploma in metallurgical engineering?

    Dear Priyanka, Yes you are eligible for lateral entry at LPU in your preferred programme, provided you have 60% plus marks. LPU makes perfect sense for lateral entry as it ensures the following programme outcomes:
    1 : Effectively build and communicate the solutions using learnings from basic mechanical engineering, basic sciences, mathematics and computational skills and tools.
    2 : Ability to design using Design of Machine Elements theories and to create prototypes using relevant manufacturing technology.
    3 : Capability of building efficient energy conversion systems using basic understanding of Thermodynamics, Heat transfer and Fluid M

    You are eligible to seek lateral admission in B.Tech Mechanical Engineering after Diploma in Metallurgical Engineering. You are advised to appear in different LEET to seek lateral entry admission in B.Tech Mechanical Engineering.

    Being LPU alumni, I would share the eligibility of the course. Pass with 60% aggregate marks in Diploma (engineering. ). (any stream) 3 years after 10th or 2 years after 10+2 (Non-Medical) or B.Sc. (Non-Medical) or B.Sc. (Computer Science) or equivalent, subject to qualifying LPU NEST. LPU makes perfect sense for lateral entry as it ensures the following programme outcomes:

    For B.Tech in mechanical engineering, the eligibility requirement is Pass with 60% aggregate marks in 10+2 (with Physics, Mathematics and English) or equivalent, subject to qualifying LPU NEST or In case student scored more than or equal to 90% in 10+2, or 90 percentile in JEE Mains, then LPU NEST will be exempted and candidate may apply for admission.
