Animation industry in India is expected to grow at a pace faster than even the IT industry's!
Animation as a career option is a field where you can use your creative juices. Fulfill your dream of "enjoy-as-you-work", feel satisfied at the end of your day and get accolades from your clients. By 2015, the animation industry had matured in India and moved on from being just an outsourcing facility to a creator of original, indigenous intellectual property. There are more than 600 animation studios in India as of 2019, which are estimated to have employed more than 45,000 animation professionals. As per the FICCI KPMG reports, the industry is growing at CAGR of 22 per cent, followed by post-production at 15 per cent, animation production at 9 per cent and animation services at 1 per cent. We can SEE that the animation, VFX, gaming and comics (AVGC) sector of India is only set to grow further. As of now, 40,000 (8%) people out of 5 Lacs people in the media and entertainment sector are employed in the animation, VFX and gaming side. Animators work in various capacities. As you can SEE that the field is growing at incredible rate, and technologies keep on changing by every day. This dynamic nature of industry necessitates the need of training which is not only comprehensive, but also prepares for the rigors of the highly competitive jobs. The institution must be equipped with all the high end software, hardware and machinery which is important. Not only this, since the field is creativity intensive, the ambiance, the culture and whole pedagogy must be such that creativity of students is used optimally. Hi,
There are ample opportunities in both the fields. Animation and VFX, both require one's creativity and innovation, and if you have these skills, then it is the booming market awaiting for you. Since, the world is moving towards digitalization, so it is the best career choices for future. For abroad, USA, Germany and Australia are the best ones.
