Hi, Common Law Admission Test CLAT is conducted on a rotational basis by National Law Universities (NLUs) in India. CLAT 2018 was conducted by The National University of Advanced Legal Studies (NUALS). Candidates need to clear CLAT in order to secure admission in B.A. LL.B. (Hons), B.Sc. LL.B. (Hons), BBA LL.B. (Hons), BSW LL.B. (Hons), B.Com LL.B. (Hons) and LL. M. programmes offered at the NLUs.

    Hi,
CLAT is Common Law Admission Test and CAT is Common Admission Test. The two said tests operate in different areas altogether. For law, give only CLAT which is a test for admission in national law universities for 5-year integrated BA LL.B course.
CAT is an exam which students take after completing graduation for business studies, commonly called as MBA.
For law, there is only CLAT.

Hi Manisha, if you want to give law exams after graduation, you need to give exams like DU LL.B. BHU LL.B. OU LL.B. Etc. The exams you mentioned above CLAT is for law exams straight after 12th boards and CAT is for MBA.

Hi.

  • Level: Comparable overall. NLET may be slightly more analytical/legal-reasoning oriented.

  • Preparation Overlap: Preparing for CLAT will largely cover NLET syllabus, but you may need extra practice on complex legal reasoning questions for NLET.

  • Difficulty: Both are competitive; CLAT is high due to large number of applicants, while NLET can feel harder in legal aptitude sections.
