    Hello Vaibhav,
Yes, absolutely. The eligibility criteria for GATE is as follows:
Bachelor's degree holders in Engineering / Technology / Architecture (4 years after 10+2/ Post-B.Sc./ Post-Diploma) and those who are in the final year of such programs.
    Good luck.
    Thank you.

Clear GATE, state or institute level equivalent with a good score and you will become eligible for an M.Tech programme. Some companies accept GATE scores for their recruitment process.

Well, the "GATE" Exam is an entrance for two things:
    1. placement in the PSU sectors
    2. Admission to the M.Tech courses at IITs,NITs,etc
So very clearly, one can only sit for the GATE Exam after B.Tech as it is the entrance for the corresponding master course, I.e M.Tech. Infact going for GATE after B.Tech is very much encouraged among students who want to further their studies in the technical line in INDIA.
    Hope this helps

The fellowship is paid for 8 months in a year, covering August to November and January to April. Students receive the Rs 12,500 amount each month, subject to fulfilling teaching duties and maintaining satisfactory academic performance. The payment is not made semester-wise or as a lump sum. Students who are not appearing for GATE 2026 will not receive this fellowship but can continue their M.E. programme without any difference in academic structure or evaluation.

Yes, Chandigarh University will definitely consider your profile if you have strong B.Tech marks, even if you are not appearing for GATE Exam 2026. GATE is not mandatory for M.E. admission, and academic performance plays a crucial role in eligibility assessment.
