Can I get admission in BITS, Hyderabad through lateral entry? I have completed B.Tech 1st year and wanted to switch college.

    No, you can't get admission through lateral entry. For all BITS college, you should first clear BITSAT and thereafter you can get admission.

    As far as I know, there are no lateral admissions in any of the three BITS campuses. Haven't come across any such case as yet. The only way to get into BITS for undergraduate degrees is through BITSAT or being a board topper and join as a fresher.
    I believe there are some other criteria for admission to M.Sc. (Tech) courses for Pilani residents (don't really know about that), but that's probably not applicable to most people and neither is it for lateral entry.

    There is no such provision of admission into 2nd year directly through lateral entry at BITS Hyderabad. However some good colleges like DTU, Jamia, Jadavpur and Anna University provide lateral entry admissions but that is available for Diploma holders. As far as your case, switching after first year completion, there are very bleak chances of getting admission into apex institutions for lateral entry. You may try for the same in state level engineering colleges or private institutes/university.

No, you cannot get admission at BITS Pilani with 60% marks. As per the eligibility criteria students must qualify Class 12 with 75% marks from the recognised board. It is mandatory for students to qualify the eligiblity criteria. The institute also accepts admission based on the entrance exams.
