Can I pursue mechanical engineering from NIT, Sikkim or CSE from LPU?

As an alumnus of LPU, I feel proud to answer this question. I was a student in the B.Tech CSE of 2012 batch, the knowledge that I gained while my course duration has helped me a lot in shaping my career. I am currently working as an Application Development Analyst in Accenture, Noida. To begin with, LPU provides a lot of options in engineering only. It is one of the most highlighted courses. It has B.Tech and B.Tech (Hons) courses. B.Tech (Hons. ). With time they had introduced my new programs considering in mind the change occurring in technology. LPU has been ranked in the top 100 private universities by many outer agencies such as Business Today, golden star awards, Digital learning, zee news etc. More than 600 companies visit every year for various industry-academia activities and campus recruitment of students from LPU Following is the data showing the placements of LPU students by top brand companies. 1. Microsoft with a package of 42 Lacs per annum. 2. Amazon with a package of 16 Lacs per annum The main concern of every student and their parents is the job and LPU fulfills that requirement. According to the placement data of 2019-20 LPU has given jobs to 90% of their students appearing in the interview. Even in 2020-21 placement record was up to 72% considering the lockdown situation and rising cases of corona patients, LPU has delivered its promise. All my batch mates were working in reputed companies in India as well as abroad. If someone is planning their career in engineering, then I would suggest LPU. It will take care of your dreams and help you fly high.

Dear Ritika, Both NIT Sikkim and LPU are good public engineering college and private university respectively. Coming to the CSE programme, being alumni of LPU, I would like to share the details of CSE at LPU with you. I did MBA from LPU and one of my friend's younger brothers is also studying over there in B.Tech CSE. There are a few parameters I would like to share with you why CSE is good at LPU. Great Placement: LPU has a good placement record for CSE students. Every year more than 500+ companies including national and multinational companies visit LPU for placement. A few of them are Microsoft, Amazon, Adobe, etc. In which they are placed. The maximum package availed for CSE is 42 LPA. PEP Classes- LPU provides placement classes to all the students from the very first year who opt for the placement. These classes help students for placements so that they can get selected in the pre-final year because the companies will start visiting for the recruitment of students from a pre-final year. Some of the students go for internships also in their final year. The Knowledge Review has rated LPU as the 10th best Training & Placement Institution in India. Industry Tie-ups: B.Tech in CSE has tie-ups with industries such as IBM, Intel, Xebia, Upgrade. Comptia, Transorg, Geeksforgeeks, etc. That help students to explore themselves more in their field. Scholarships: LPU provides scholarships to bright students every year worth crore rupees to all the students based on their academics, extracurricular activities, and other factors. Specializations Offered: CSE students get many specializations while studying CSE to enhance their knowledge according to their interests such as Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Cloud Computing, Cyber Security, Data Science, etc. LPU also offers B.Tech (Hons. ). Though both the engineering have scope and both the institutes are good in terms of academic structure but being an alumni let me share the details. After obtaining a degree in CSE, you can expect handsome salary packages in government as well as private sector. IT sector is the higher salary provider sector. I personally believe that every branch has a scope if you have a strong orientation and you don't leave any stone unturned to learn it. Mechanical Engineering is one of the oldest and the broadest types of engineering which is concerned with the design, manufacturing and maintenance of mechanical systems. You will study statics and dynamics, thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, stress analysis, mechanical design and technical drawing whereas Computer Science Engineering (CSE) encompasses a variety of topics that relates to computation, like analysis of algorithms, programming languages, programme design, software, and computer hardware. Computer Science engineering has roots in electrical engineering, mathematics, and linguistics. Now, you have to identify the area of your interest and choose the field accordingly. So, if you wish to be a software engineer, then LPU is the right option and CSE is the right cup of tea for you. #Computer Science Engineering (CSE) is a major branch of engineering at LPU which has been designed primarily to suit the needs of the students who aspire to be the future engineers, managers or entrepreneurs with a strong grounding in accounting and finance. Developing analytical, communication and decision making skills of students is an important focus area throughout the duration of the programme. The students are encouraged to undertake assignments/project work from the industry and work towards finding possible solutions to integrate their theoretical knowledge with industrial practices. Students are exposed too the fields like a. Cloud computing b. IoT c. Data Science e. Machine Learning f.
