CAT is an open exam and any specialisation you choose will be in the later stages.
To prepare for CAT, the first stage would be to get in touch with mentors and guides who would take you through the complete passage of the journey and guide you through. Some books that can be referred are:
5th Edition (Paperback) by Arun Sharma, Publisher: Tata McGraw Hill 2012, 1st Edition (Paperback) by Nishit K Sinha. Publisher: Pearson, CBSE books for Class 8th, 9th, 10th, etc.

Candidates with a valid score of CAT/ GMAT/ GRE score are exempted from the written test. These candidates still need to complete the form by paying the application fees. However, these aspirants may get called for the IIM Trichy - Chennai campus PGPBM interview round.
