For B.Tech admissions at PIET, 75% of seats are filled through HSTES counselling on the basis of JEE Main. Students allotted PIET through HSTES must report to the campus for document verification and fee confirmation. The tentative schedule for 2025 is:
- Round 1 Reporting: 2nd – 4th July 2025
- Round 2 Reporting: 14th – 16th July 2025
- Classes are expected to begin on 14th August 2025.

Even though the syllabus of the BCECE Mathematics is same as that of JEE Main, the difficulty level is not the same. JEE Main exam is much tougher than the BCECE exam.
