currently i am prusuing B.sc agriculture, 1st year in LPU but here this course doesn't have ICAR recognization.Is it ok to continue?

Students are exposed to Commercial farms (100 acres) to know-how that create an opportunity for students to engage and tone up their endurance, confidence and management skills. They were also engaged in complete cultivation practice of seasonal crops for 6 months, wherein land preparation till harvesting and marketing of the final products will be done by student to expose farming experience. Profit earned by selling solely shared by students of a group. The highest numbers of PhDs as faculty members are enrolled in School of Agriculture faculty members throughout the LPU university. These experienced faculty members mostly engaged in consultancy, research and publication to add immense value to the academic life. Dear Aspirant, Before 2018, LPU was not ICAR approved but now LPU has become first private university that got ICAR approval. They have 1200+ acres of agricultural land apart from the 600+ acres of campus for agriculture students only. (I). The school of Agriculture was approved for accreditation for a period of five years with a GPAC of 3.42 (ii) The following degree programs were approved for accreditation for a period of five years B.Sc. (Hons. ). Agriculture with GPAP of 3.72 M.Sc. Agriculture {Horticulture (Fruit Science)} with GPAP of 3.75 M.Sc. Agriculture (Agronomy) with GPAP of 3.60 M.Sc. Hi, LPU is well known for its B.Sc. (Hons) Agriculture course. LPU is the first private University to get ICAR accreditation. The faculty is well qualified and most of them are Ph. This and provide full support to the students. The best thing is the University does not compromise with the academics as all the lectures are held and if a faculty wants a leave either the makeup lectures are planned or adjustments are provided for that particular slot. In this stream as most of the work is fieldwork, there every student is allocated a separate piece of land to perform their tasks in the supervision of the staff. If I talk about placements, University provides separate placement oriented classes, and students also studied subjects like analytical skills, soft skills, etc. Etera as part of the curriculum to prepare the students. I would like to name a few companies that visit LPU- Nestle, VLCC Health Care, HDFC, Rallis India, and many other firms. Thanks.

No need to worry, as Lovely professional university is the first private university to get accreditation from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR). LPU provides the quality education by the well qualified teachers. LPU has become a brand across the globe. It has various national and international tie-ups. LPU excels in terms of placement as well. Students of agriculture are availing a good amount of packages from the recruiters. LPU provides a proper atmosphere or environment for agriculture students. In this stream as most of the work is fieldwork, there every student is allocated a separate piece of land to perform their tasks in the supervision of the staff. Students here are given the opportunity to work on the live projects. University provides additional professional enhancement classes as part of the curriculum to prepare the students for all types of competitive exams. LPU excels in terms of placement as well. Students of agriculture are availing a good amount of packages from the recruiters. I would like to name a few companies that visit LPU- Nestle, VLCC Health Care, HDFC, Rallis India, and many other firms. In the situation of Covid-19, LPU has relaxed their eligibility norms. Rock, ICAR approval is a govt. process and concerned body will take their own time however we have initiated process after successful pass out of first batch B.Sc.(Hons) Agriculture (in May 2015) as per ICAR guidelines.Furthermore, ICAR is an accreditation body not a regulatory body as in case of MBBS (Medical council of India) and B.V.Sc.(Veterinary council of India) which accredit our program and advise changes (if any needed) to run the program whereas no permission is required from ICAR for such programs.At the same time, number of students from first batch have qualified for JRF test (conducted by ICAR) and cleared with merit positions. Thereby availing ICAR awarded scholarship for doing M.Sc. in various branches of Agriculture namely Plant breeding, Vegetable science., Entomology, Agricultural statistics etc. in top agricultural universities by Govt. of India. Some of these first batch students are also pursuing their M.Sc. in various state agricultural universities (Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore; Punjab Agriculture University, Ludhiana, Haryana Agricultural University, Hissar; Indira Gandhi Agricultural University, Raipur; sher e kashmir university of agricultural sciences and technology, Jammu; Chaudhary Sarwan Kumar Himachal Pradesh Krishi Vishvavidyalaya, Palampur etc. on scholarships (as cleared with merit positions) as discussed above.Similarly, a few students have also been working with various private industries like TATA Rallis India, Zenesis Agroscience And Consulting Pvt. Ltd, Omics Group etc. where placement has been done either in campus or through joint campus drives.Since our students are accepted by ICAR funded state agricultural universities as well as by ICAR for scholarships, so there is no question about validity of degree. But it will be difficult to give time frame at this moment for approval.

I want to clear on this point in present time that LPU has now ICAR approval. LPU is one of the best choice for agriculture programme. Lovely Professional University is first private university accredited by Indian Council of Agricultural Research. No other private university has this accreditation. LPU is one of the great place for education where the management actually believe on actions rather than words. Whatever they promised they delivered to us along with in campus placement at good package.

Icar recognition would have given a extra advantage. ugc recognition is enough to carry on the course. if u r not satisfied with the accreditation then shift your stream. otherwise its okay. try to do masters from a reputed government college. best of luck.
