Yes, you can try for several branches like biomedical, biotechnology, integrated M.Sc; you can opt for internal sliding to move to other courses after central counseling. This year NIT-Rourkela is introducing the branch change option after first year. If you are particularly interested in one branch and can maintain a CGPA of 8.5 and above, you will stand a good chance of getting upgraded to a branch of your choice.
