12th marks are only required for being eligible to give the entrance tests of the institutes. For BITS, it is aggregate 75 % in physics, chemistry, and maths with 60 % and above in each subject. But for a general perspective, a higher percentage in 12th certainly enhances your opportunities and chances throughout your career.

VIT and BIT both organise entrance exam for admission and other universities take direct admission through 12th score.

There is a minimum eligibility criteria for 12th class percentage as per different universities , just check on their websites. You have to give respective entrance tests for a getting admissions.
However if you are board topper throughout India BITS take you without any entrance tests.

I need to clarify first: are you asking about admission to Chandigarh University for B.Tech/B.E, or admission to a medical/paramedical course (like B.Sc Nursing, MBBS, BPT, etc.)

The marks required and exam rules differ a lot depending on the stream.

Chandigarh University follows a holistic admission approach, giving importance to both Class 12 performance and JEE Main scores, depending on the route chosen. For JEE-qualified students, the JEE score primarily determines merit-based scholarships and priority counseling, while Class 12 marks ensure eligibility verification. For students not appearing in JEE, Class 12 performance, particularly in PCM subjects, becomes the primary eligibility criterion, alongside CUCET scores for CSE programs. This dual-focus system allows students with strong 12th marks but no JEE score to secure admission, while rewarding JEE participants with merit a

Yes, for B.E. admission at Chandigarh University, students must meet the basic eligibility criteria of Class 12, irrespective of their JEE score. Generally, candidates should have passed 10+2 with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects, along with one additional relevant subject.
