Placement is not a guarantee. It depends on how well you project yourself to the company. The placement percentage have been around 80- 85% till now. And yes there are chances for you to change your field from programming if you pursue MBA, as the course is all about management.

If you find a gap in the role as well as the current position, MBA could be a better option. However MBA calls for a different type of skill set and outlook.
