<p>Life here has been awesome from the first year to internship. I never felt home sick not even for a single day because the campus is so homely and the people are so friendly. When I arrived at first I was in awe of the centralised AC buildings and the clean LT&rsquo;s mostly because my imagination of college life had been dorm rooms and filthy old buildings. Getting a room all to myself was an experience I was quite frankly glad about. We get to keep our individuality and express ourselves through our rooms and how we decorate them. Posters, framed pictures, and other assorted knick knacks.</p><p>There&rsquo;s always a fear of ragging when you are joining college for the first time. But our seniors (the very first batch of Aiims Jodhpur) were the most helpful people we ever came across and other than occasional introduction they never even came close to ragging any of us. The college has a strict no ragging policy which keeps us from properly interacting with our fresher batches for the fear of being scrutinised, but all that tension and awkwardness disappears in a few months.</p><p>During our first few months, we were exposed for the first time to strict hostel rules of 10 pm on time and the GATE pass system and timing until 8 pm to go out of campus etc. but that never stood in the way of us having fun. Later on, as the years passed by the rules were reduced one by and one and now we have no GATE pass system and our timings have been relaxed.</p><p>Of course there is no life outside the campus. Literally, other than eating food or watching a movie there is nothing to do here in Jodhpur. That never bothered me much because I spend most of my time in my room but it is a huge downside for many people looking for the ultimate college experience and night life and so on. But we do go on trips with our friends whenever we feel like so we don&rsquo;t miss out on much.</p><p>Since we were the second batch we were witness to some dynamic changes in our campus. The greenery, the wide roads, the buildings, it&rsquo;s all a sight to take in.</p><p>Academic years passed by so quick that we didn&rsquo;t realise it. From dissection to finger pricking to slide and specimen study to patient examination. The clinical exposure has been wonderful and we have seen so many cases - typical and atypical. That proud feeling you get when your professor says &ldquo; I came across this case just once in my life, it is one in a million and you guys are lucky to see it in your MBBS years.&rdquo;</p><p>And how the place transforms when there is a college fest. It&rsquo;s still a work in progress but every year the fests get better and the campus more beautifully decorated. Since the sports facilities are excellent most of the students are into some or the other sports activities. Same goes for cultural activities, the talent is immense and many clubs have been initiated by our junior batches.</p><p>All in all my MBBS years here have been amazing. I cannot compare Jodhpur to a city like Delhi or up and coming Aiims Jodhpur to an established institute like Jipmer. But Aiims Jodhpur is nevertheless an experience worthwhile.</p>
