There are three courses for which admissions are granted in IIST Thiruvananthapuram. Admissions are of course based on ranking in JEE advanced. Over a period of time it has been observed that the ranks in JEE advanced vary widely for the same branch from year to year and also in the same year from branch to branch.
If the previous results are to be taken into account then even the rank of 6000 to 7000 in JEE advanced will get you admission in this prestigious institute but may not be for the course that you desire.
