How many year's course is B.Arch? Is it difficult getting 90% in the course?

Architecture is a 5-year course in India and a 4-year course in the European countries. It's considered as one of the toughest undergraduate programs in the world. In fact, I believe that there is also a Guinness World Record for architecture to be the toughest undergraduate programme as many students leave the course in between.

It is a five year course and these five years will screw you to become a perfectionist. Go into it if you can deal with being yourself, architecture is all about being yourself. Becoming an architect is tough and rightly it should be. An architect is responsible in developing buildings, neighborhoods and towns and cities. For such a huge responsibility one has to learn a plethora of subjects and understand the building engineering as well as the art of creation. Architecture course expects you to be a problem solver or at least ready to be one. From bylaws, to construction, building materials to climatology, acoustics to the principles of plumbing, structure to landscape an architect should learn all. Architecture is not a subject or a means to an end. It is an extension of your lifestyle. Architecture will change the way you look at your surroundings. It will help you to grow up into a very creative and socially responsible individual. It may overwhelm you, because yes, the curriculum and the expectations are huge, but it is extremely gratifying to see ones design getting built. A building will always outgrow a generation.
