Hi,
* To become a fashion designer, you need to pursue any degree, diploma course. You may join the one which matches your interest and time availability.
The basic eligibility to join fashion design course is to pass 12th with 50%. One needs to appear in entrance exam. Some of the entrances are :
-Common Entrance Examination for Design, CEED
-National Institute of Fashion Technology Entrance Exam
-International Institute of Fashion Technology Entrance Exam
-J D Institute of Fashion Technology Entrance Exam
-National Academy of Fashion technology Entrance Exam
-National Entrance Examination for Design (NEED)

As a fashion designer, there are many avenues and opportunities. You can opt for a career in :
-export house
-textile mill
-manufacturing and processing company that produces clothing, soft furnishings and other textiles-based products
-several large fashion and clothing retailers
-design studios and consultancies
-handloom cooperatives and buying agencies
You may even work as freelancer. And with good experience and contacts, you can eventually open your own business.
