I am a regular student but I have financial issues, so I am dropping out and will start distance education program. Am I doing right?

I am pursuing regular BBA (1st semester) at Punjabi University, Patiala. I am thinking to do a full time job after this semester and will join a distance education program. Does govt. organisation value correspondence degrees?
