Both aeronautical and petroleum engineering are niche degrees with major opportunities in government and public sector units. Opportunities in both the fields are similar. Currently because of international oil price crash petroleum industry is in bit of crisis worldwide. However I feel it's a temporary phenomenon. If both subjects are of equal interest to you, choose your specialisation based on your entrance exam performance. You may choose institute for specialisation based on brand image, ranking and placement record. -
