I got 27000 Rank in JEE main exam. What are my chances of getting CSE in NIT JSR through CSAB?

<p>At 27,000 rank in JEE Main, you have little hope of getting Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) at NIT Jamshedpur in CSAB, let alone in the General (Other State) quota.<br><br>According to the recent CSAB cutoffs for NIT Jamshedpur CSE:</p><ul><li>General (Other States): The range of closing ranks classically is between 8,000 and 10,000.</li><li>General (Home State): Usual amounts of closing ranks are 10,000 to 14,000.</li></ul><p>You are ranked 27,000 and this is way above these numbers. Though the cutoffs for reserved groups are lower, 27,000 would probably be excessive even in the case of the majority of such groups in NIT Jamshedpur. For example, OBC-NCL (OS) CSE ends up most times below 14,000.<br><br>Other options of 27,000 rank:</p><ul><li>Other NITs: If you have not received a seat in any other NIT, you may consider CSE in other NITs (such as IT Mizoram, NIT Nagaland, or NIT Sikkim) which either are newer or have lower ranks.</li><li>Allied Branches in NIT Jamshedpur/Other NITs: Better opportunities in Electrical Engineering (closed approximately 21,000-22,000 being OS in past CSAB rounds) and Mechanical Engineering (approximately 30,000-33,000 OS) are possible in NIT Jamshedpur and other NITs. These branches have a great opportunity in other good NITs as well.</li><li>IIITs/GFTIs: There are many Indian Government funded institutes of Information Technology (IIITs) and Government funded technical institutes (GFTIs) that may provide the CSE or IT related branches in your range of ranks.</li><li>Good and common Private Colleges: There are many good private engineering colleges who accept JEE Main and might provide CSE.</li></ul><p>Be an active member in CSAB counselling, see the official opening/ closing ranks of the current year, widen your options and do not stick only to NIT Jamshedpur CSE.</p>
