I've completed my B.Com and now I'm almost through my B.Ed. I am quite interested in psychology. Can I opt for an M.A in psychology now?

I am really interested in appearing for the National Eligibility Test in psychology and later pursuing a PhD in the same field. The eligibility criteria for both is a master's in the same field. Hence, I want to know if I can opt for it. P.S: I really love teaching and I want to teach psychology.

Definitely you can join M.A. Psychology course, As per my knowledge, Psychology is a field of research that focuses on the behavior of humans and animals. Psychology as a source of knowledge has found its use in various fields such as health, industry, organisation, clinic, forensics, and many more. Psychology actually teaches individuals to think critically, regardless of the situation which plays an important role mainly in research and is integrated throughout their studies. Hello,
A curious mind is a mind that grows. However, mere curiosity shouldn't make you change the course of your career as a whole. Think about it. Of course you can switch to Psychology, but reading books about Psychology and finding it interesting and making a career out of it are two completely different aspects. You should look into the career prospects first. And even if you do, maybe a career in Industrial Psychology would be helpful for you, as you're already connected to the line of B.Com.
    I hope it helped.

Hi...

Yes — internships are possible for BA Psychology students

Psychology internships allow undergraduates to “apply theoretical knowledge to real-life situations” — in clinics, hospitals, wellness centers, research labs, schools, community-service centres, NGOs, etc.

Some mental-health / wellness centers explicitly offer internship/trainee-positions to BA or BSc psychology students. For example, Peace of Mind (India) offers “graduate internship (BA/BSc Psychology or Clinical Psychology)” which includes patient-center workflow, admin support, content-creation, and “live-project” work.
