I would be taking a break for CET 2019, and CAT 2018 and would be graduating in 2018. Is it advisable to pursue M.Com in the mean time?

Hi Dear,
I would advise you to focus on one goal only. If your goal is to pursue MBA, you should give it all your time and effort for the preparation. You can keep M.Com as a backup option though, in case you don't find yourself getting admission in a good B-School. But for now, I think you should concentrate in cracking CAT and CET exams. -
Give a sincere try to the entrance examinations you want to crack. M.Com can always be done later. In the mean time, I would suggest you to take up a job and get some work experience as you will be getting an extra weightage for that and this will also improve your profile.
