According to the official website of the Faculty of Law, University of Calcutta, admission to the 5-year B.A. LL.B. course is based on the marks obtained in the 10+2 level from the board recognised by the University of Calcutta. There is no mention of CLAT as a requirement for admission. However, some other law colleges affiliated to the University of Calcutta, such as the Department of Law, Hazra Campus, may require CLAT scores for admission. Therefore, it is advisable to check the eligibility criteria and admission process of each college before applying.

Yes, in order to be admitted to the B.A. LL.B. programme at the Calcutta University Faculty of Law, one must pass the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT).

The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is a national entrance exam that is administered by several participating National Law Universities (NLUs) and other law colleges in India for admission to undergraduate and graduate law programs.

Calcutta University may have additional admission requirements in addition to taking CLAT scores into account, since it is not an NLU. For comprehensive details on the admissions procedure, it is recommended that you visit the Calcutta University Facult
