Is it bad to join LPU for B.Tech in CSE; is LPU good for CSE?

Hi Sameeksha, Numerous colleges are offering B.Tech. CSE but you need to choose the best among the rest. Some factors you need to keep in mind like : Do that University is really having that kind of infrastructure that can give you exposure. Secondly, always check the type of labs available as practical knowledge is the main aspect Obviously, Placements. What's the use of degree if you will not get the best placement. Faculty : It is one of the main point as they are the one who will tell you that what B.Tech. CSE actually is. Alumni network - If University's alumni is well settled at good positions then you are at the right place. Many other parameters are also there, I have listed some of them. Now, as per the question, Do LPU fulfills all of the aspects mentioned above? I will answer as per my experience here till now. Let us check - LPU's Infrastructure is one of the biggest & best in the world. You will have lots of International friends that will keep you connected globally. At LPU, we have industry-sponsored labs from Google, Oracle, SAP where we work on real life projects. This industry experience make cracking job interviews much easy. I have seen many MNCs visiting LPU for recruitment purpose. Some of the names are -Amazon, CTS, TCS, Tech Mahindra, Amdocs, Capgemini, Verizon, SAP Labs, Bosch, Samsung, Voltas, Lava, Vodafone and many more. And many more! LPU is having around 2300 experienced, specialised and well qualified faculty members in the university. Around 543 M.Tech qualified, 52 M. Phils and 592 Ph.D. faculty from IIT, IIM and IIIT are there in LPU. At present there are around 70 faculty members from IIT, Iims, IIITs etc. LPU students are working at top silicon valley companies like Google, Apple and Microsoft. Hi there, Well, being an alumni as well as an existing student of LPU it is a pleasure to share my experience that helps others wisely for their career. Based on my own experience in LPU, I would say that is better to choose LPU for higher studies. My roommate during my Masters degree from LPU was pursuing CSE from LPU and there are a lot of things I have experienced from her about LPU. LPU is the best engineering college in Punjab for CSE. Lately, number of admissions in CSE department have been increased rapidly and has become one of the popular courses among engineering aspirants. It focuses on the basic elements of computer programming and networking. LPU adopts new technologies faster than anyone, they update their curriculum even after each semester by taking feedback from the students and also to meet the latest standards. LPU focuses on practical knowledge a lot, they have high tech labs and dedicated MAC lab for iOS development, each core subject has a different practical subject for it. Also in today generation knowledge and education is not only based on textbooks but also on the outside world, thinking out of the box and overall learning that's why LPU offers their students to participate in a lot of activities and events, the environment of LPU is very good and the academics tasks of LPU are so well planned that even in a course like Engineering you'll be able to manage time for exploring other things. Without any bias towards any particular college, I will offer you my own perspective. It depends on your end goals or objectives. Most of the Engineering Colleges in India don't focus much on developing the overall personality of the student. Anyways Your decision making should not be on the basis of placements, packages but on quality of students ( your peer group), faculty, infrastructure, curriculum, and the alumni network. My brother has completed B.Tech CSE from Lovely Professional University and currently he is working in Amazon with the highest package. So through him I come to know about University and few other things which I would like to discuss:- LPU is the best engineering college in Punjab for CSE. Lately, number of admissions in CSE department have been increased rapidly and has become one of the popular courses among engineering aspirants. It focuses on the basic elements of computer programming and networking. Professors are easily approachable in the college and are well experienced. They are very supportive of all technicalities. Students can contact them anytime for their study purpose. The latest teaching methods are used in the classroom. The placements on the campus is good enough. It is the best university in the North of India to give the best packages in B.Tech (CSE). During the time of my brother induction, I have seen a few students who got placed in the companies with a package of 42 LPA. The university placement drive undoubtedly works hard for the students to get placed. Just before Final Year of your course, a special team called School of Professional Enhancement will prepare students for upcoming placements and you won't get a day off from placements, every day a company comes to campus. Its just up to you how well you can do and never lose Patience you will get placed, you just have to prepare well for that. The university has tie-ups Oracle to train us better and with huge companies for placements like Google, Microsoft, Capgemini, Amazon, JOSH technology group, Tech Mahindra, TCS and others who visit every year offering attractive packages to students. The average package is around 3.5lakhs - 4.5lakhs p. a. The deserving ones are also seen ceasing the opportunity by getting placed with a whopping package of 20-25 LPA.
