The location depends on the companies vacancies and requirements.

LIC is not coming for placements in NIA. LIC placements is through Direct recruitment only as per the government order. Postings is not related with NIA. However SBI life used to recruit students from NIA for past few years. If they have openings at NIA you may get posting at Guwahati Assam. NIA don't have any say on Companies internal matters. All major companies in Insurance industry used to recruit students from NIA. Don't restrict postings to Assam only. You may get Chance in Guwahati based on their requirement.
