Is LPU a good choice for civil engineering or not after completing Diploma?

Well after completing your diploma you can proceed with B.tech Lateral entry programme. In my opinion Lovely professional university is good in all aspects. Tech class and will pass the degree with flying colors. After doing Diploma, you will save one year by enrolling in second year of B. Tech program and will complete your study in three years. Now, I will give you my opinion based on feedback received from students who are known to me and are currently studying Civil Engineering at LPU. Besides, few colleagues of mine who have previously worked in the same Department. So, following are the highlights of Civil Engineering in LPU: - 1. Most of the faculty staff is from reputed organizations with their highest degree from various reputed institutes such as IITs, NITs, etc. Apart from that, faculty has got previous industrial experience also. 2. The capstone project is an integral part of B. Tech program in which students have to pick a live project based on practical problem-based scenario (ideally from industry) and work for six months under a mentor and present a report at the end. This is beneficial to enhance your presentation skills. 3. There is an internship program which could be an opportunity for getting work experience and increase your chance to get employment after you pass out. But, of course, your academic record should be good to get this placement option. 4. Industrial visits are organized to nearby construction sites from time to time. There, you can see actual construction work going on. Be prepare to have dust on your shoes (believe me, it will be worth a lot). You have to ask questions yourself and trigger interest in the activities around you. 5. You will get some courses from soft skills, English language, mental and on analytical aptitude side.
