Indian Council of Agriculture Research every year conducts Admission tests followed by counseling and scholarships to deserving candidates in all the Central and State Agricultural Universities in India. The examination is termed as AIEEA. Besides this many state Agricultural Universities conduct separate entrance tests to admit students in agricultural and related disciplines. For example Uttar Pradesh conducts CATET exam for Admission in three Universities in U. P. CSAU andT, Kanpur, NDUA and T, Faizabad and CCSUA, Meerut. ICAR conducts a entrance exam to get admission in various agriculture colleges. If u get a rank or a/c to you merit u are asked to choose a college. But there are some universities which conducted their own entrance exam like Aacharya NG ranga agricultural university, Banaras Hindu university and Lovely Professional University (LPUNEST). B.Sc Agriculture is a 4-year undergraduate degree awarded by Indian Universities for 10+2 students preferably with Science stream. B.Sc. in Agriculture is considered as a professional degree by the Government of India. The course is not so popular among students but the demand for trained professionals in agriculture is very high. Well, the Eligibility for B.Sc In Agriculture is to get Pass with 60% aggregate marks in 10+2 or Intermediate (with English, Physics, Chemistry and Maths or Biology or Forestry) or 10+2 or Intermediate (Agriculture) or 2 years Diploma in Agriculture after 10th or equivalent with LPU NEST. Hello Saezy, I have spent 4 years in lpu for my studies and I have seen that the agriculture department is one of the finest departments. Well-equipped and well grown from the last couple of years. Moreover, LPU is the first private university got ICAR approval. LPU holds a stellar record in placements as big brands like VLCC Healthcare Ltd. , Ankur Seeds, HDFC, Dhanuka Agritech Ltd. , Ebro India Pvt. Ltd. , etc. Have visited for campus recruitment at packages upto 4.5 LPA. In addition to this, students can attain positions as Agriculture Inspectors, Agriculture Officers, POs, Food Quality Inspectors, Agriculture Development Officer, Horticulture Development Officer, Technical Assistants and administrative posts in government and non-government organizations. Over and above, I also came to know that recently, LPU has been ranked in top 80 amongst all private and government institutes by NIRF, MHRD, GOI which shows the quality being delivered at the institute.

Dear Saezy, I did MBA from LPU, During my post graduation years I had few friends from agriculture department, Sometimes I used to visit fields, Labs with them they also discussed about placements, academic, placements etc. So I have Idea about this course. LPU is first private University which is approved by ICAR. Students learn about the latest advancements in the field of agriculture, disease resistance, fertilizers and, insecticides with extensive fieldwork and field trips preparing them for the evergreen field of agriculture.
