Is studying in a tier-1 college really necessary? If not, what should a PCM student in Class 11 focus on, and how should I study?

I am a student and most of my friends are preparing for IIT, but I'm not. I have a lot of free time and end up wasting it on mindless scrolling, even though I keep telling myself not to. I also feel confused because I dont really know what my interests are.
