    Yes, VIT Vellore is approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and accredited with an 'A+' grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). It was established in 1984 as a self-financing institution called the Vellore Engineering College under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956.

    The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has granted approval to VIT Vellore to conduct various undergraduate and postgraduate programs for the academic year 2022-23. The university offers a diverse range of courses, including B.Tech, M.Tech, MBA, Ph.D., B.Sc (Hons), B.Sc, M.Sc, BCA, BCom, MCA, and MDes.

    Situated in Vellore, Tamil Nadu, VIT Vellore is a private research university. The Indian government recognizes the institute as the top private university for innovation and as an Institute of Eminence.     Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT University) is approved by UGC and was established in 1984. The university is accredited with A + Grade by NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council), MHRD. After getting the approval status, one can say that VIT Vellore was ranked by various ranking bodies. The university is ranked in the band of 791-800 under the QS Asia World University category by QS World University Rankings 2025. All the undergraduate, postgraduate, and other courses are approved by UGC which is a statutory body that is set up by the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, Government.
